Job Description

We’re building an exciting new company that is looking to change how the public views and uses the aviation industry. We are embarking on an exciting new chapter in the development of a Personal Electric Aircraft. We have pushed beyond the concept stage and are now moving into the development and certification of the production version.

We're looking for an outstanding Quality Engineer with Certification experience who combines superb technical knowledge, with the ability to bring an organisation to the necessary levels required for ISO 9001 Certification with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This role is to lead a small very technically competent team to develop from the ground up the Quality Management System with a view to attaining ISO9001 accreditation and EASA DOA approval in the shortest time possible. This role is full time and will require the successful candidate to be very flexible in terms of work content and be well-motivated.

The successful candidate must have a fundamental knowledge of introducing recognised quality systems from scratch.

Responsibilities

Duties will be wide ranging and varied and will include:

  • Leading and developing the Quality Management System necessary to gain ISO 9001 and DOA approval from EASA
  • Assist the Certification Engineer in gaining Type Approval for the new aircraft
  • Assist in the developing the processes used by the technical team
  • Liaising directly with the relevant authorities to ensure we meet the necessary requirements

Basic Qualifications / Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of Quality systems and approvals

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

  • Experience of certifying to aerospace standards
  • Masters or PhD in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Avionics or related field
  • Experience in communicating with management, as well as technical and business teams to explain Quality requirements and implementation
